I have subscribed to the newsletter from the International Association for Near-Death Studies, Inc. for some time. Today I received the latest one and am wowed by the news. Link is www.iands.org.
First is a documentary that features an interview with Birmingham’s (Alabama) Dr. T. Lee Baumann, a noted author and a researcher. His background is medical and he claims that there is scientific research to support the validity of the near-death experience. Thanatology is the study of death and dying and author Barbara Harris Whitfield, who claims to have had a near-death experience is a thanatologist. She has been studying in that field for decades. She's also being interviewed. Finally Alice Vaughn, a medical social worker with Hospice of Montgomery, talks about her experiences regarding patients’ behaviour at death. Fascinating. And this should charm the sceptics right out of their tight-fitting socks, it's based on oh my! science with a capital S- the kind that Einstein is famous for, pardon my cynical tone. Also in the newsletter is the announcing of a show called " I Survived - Beyond and Back" on the biography channel. Previews of some of the show episodes feature real life experiencers and will debut on December 5th. The newsletter also gives links to short videos of interviews with Clint Eastwood, director of Hereafter, and Matt Damon (as the psychic in the movie) with Katie Couric.
I have been very involved with a number chores and trips and have not been able to develop this site any further. I still have to scrape the subfloor of my rig of dried up adhesive and install new vinyl tiles. There aren't enough hours in the day...

Thanks so much for the links to NDE. My sister-in-law used to be a hospice nurse. She has recounted several similar experiences of her dying patients.

Thank you so much Virago. I have never met with a hospice nurse or doctor and therefore, have never received true life confirmation of the near-death experience. However, since it has happened to tens of thousands, there must be something irrefutable there. We will all find out, in time. Your comment means a lot.
